Priyanka Chopra‘s production house PURPLE PEBBLE PICTURES will be producing a Sikkimese-Nepali film. Amazeballs! The actress who’s totally slayed this year created the company with the aim of producing small budget films and promoting emerging talents, writers, actors, technicians and directors.
The Sikkimese-Nepali film ‘Paua’, which Priyanka’s mother revealed means guest will be a story about a family who is separated from their children due to a political unrest. In Nepal, we say Pahuna for a guest! Quite similar aye! The cast and crew are expected to be local talents. PC’s mother shared that the idea came to fruition after Priyanka was selected as the tourism brand ambassador for Assam. The actress visited the North Eastern states and fell in love! Priyanka has also worked alongside Nepali actor Sunil Thapa in Mary Kom and theatre artist Bhola Raj Sapkota in Barfi!
Purple Pebble Pictures Marathi comedy-drama Ventilator received quite the critical acclaim when it released in November last month. Well done to Priyanka for focusing on regional cinema and doing what she can to promote and push that forward.
