AirAsia Foundation’s “TO NEPAL WITH LOVE” campaign saw the low-cost carrier raise over USD $200,000 from its flights for the Nepal Earthquake appeal. The airline which connects Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu sent a team of AirAsia staff and a film crew to Olang village in Gorkha to host their first ever Sports Day and celebrate the completion of the rebuilding of four schools in December. Working alongside Open Learning Exchange Nepal (OLE Nepal), an organisation that believes in the power of technology to address the problems of quality and disparity in the education system, AirAsia Foundation fulfilled its mission to reintroduce play into education.
The foundation and its partners distributed school bags, children’s books and a set of children’s green laptops supporting OLE Nepal’s One-laptop-per-child programme. AirAsia Foundation’s ‘To NEPAL with LOVE’ has been documented on the show film below.
