This one’s for all the mummies out there! Justtt joking – it goes out to all the female gender; young or old. Katii chai teenagers haruko matra party huwosh?? Besides – our parents are the one’s who brought us to England and ultimately they are the one’s that we’ve got our dance moves from. Let’s all go and join them on the 27th August, oh wait – I meant girls, please go join the ladies at Asian Mahila Association. If there are any daring boy’s out there willing to strut his stuff in a sari and make way to Oak Farm then I hear he will be celebrity’ied at the event. Any daring soul out there?

Asian Mahila Association are back with their annual TEEJ PARTY on the 27th of August. After a hugely successful party last year which had the likes of Kranti Ale performing and beauty queen Purnima Gurung judging an impromptu fashion show ladies can only expect this year’s party to get bigger and better. The ladies who are behind the party have thought about all of you and know how badly you want to look your best on that day so the party will conveniently kick off at 2PM and go late into 10PM at night. Now this gives an ample time for people to come and join the fun after work as well. AMA will also be supporting Maiti Nepal this year from the money generated through ticket sales (£10 for advanced, £15 for door).

The girls or shall I stick with aunties at Asian Mahila Association have a lot of surprises up their sleeves which they will be unveiling every Sunday over on their Facebook event page so do go over and see what hungama they are about to create.  Some other goodies you’ll get with the ticket are:
  • 10% DISCOUNT at your favourite ‘Friends Unisex Hair & Beauty Salon, 32 Station Road, Aldershot. You can use this voucher for any service provided by the salon! Be it henna tattoo or bridal hair! How nice are we?

  • 5% DISCOUNT at Buddha Store, 26-28 Station Road, Aldershot. If your husband or parents are unhappy with all shopping you have been doing for Teej, then not to worry! They will be very happy to know that you will also be saving 5% on your weekly food shopping!
  • 10% DISCOUNT at Paperwork Solutions Ltd., Victoria House for Accountancy services.
Will you be there at Oak Farm School on the 27th August?

  1. I think it is so amazing how you can predict which one is going to be the better one…the one on the 21st is for profit as a business and AMA’s on the 27th is for reinvestment for ladies via a voluntary community organisation. Instead of appreciating someone else’s event you are just guesstimating that one will be better than the other. All the AMA attendees from last year will decide whether it will be bigger and better this year, and if it is worthwhile to attend. The idea is it is organised by women for women…after all women should know what they want from a Teej Party!!
