Our charity organisation Live For Change which started off just earlier this year was raising money for Saraswati Peace School in Gorkha. The total we raised was just over GBP 880 Pounds (Nrs 1,02,000) through the sales of customized wristbands and selling food and drinks at Gurkha Cup in May which we handed over on the 19th August to founder Subhash Ghimire.
Unfortunately due to time constraints and Monsoon conditions we were not able to travel to Gorkha to visit the school and donate the money there, however we picked a school which works closely with SPS to use it as a setting to hand over the money. Koseli School is a day-time home to many slum/street children. Currently the school has just over 100 students. We had invited the founder of SPS Subhash Ghimire to receive our donation cheque and also an additional notebook which was donated by Melanie Harris from UK.
I will continue updating of the progress being made at Saraswati Peace School and want to thank everyone who donated to Live For Change and our friends that all turned up on the day of the donation program and singer Sanjeev Singh for taking out time to perform for the children of Koseli School. Our fundraiser/first project is done and now we shall move on to raising money for another needy cause.
PS. Our 15 friends also distributed copies, pencil, colour pencils etc to the 100+ children in Koseli School.
What the money will go towards:
1. Buying a motor pump to pump water from 160 metres down the hill
2. Towards the construction of a bigger library/computer room
Found is amusing how this one piece of social work did not receive any comments, while the fashion show got 3 already. Shows whats really wrong with this country…. anyways….
I love what you guys are doing, can’t imagine what those children will carry for the rest of their lives due to you guys visiting. For them it must be a real treat to know that alot of people outside care. Thank you Lex Team 😀
