Avia Club Nepal recently conducted successful hang-gliding test flights from Sarangkot in Pokhara. The club which has been operating ultra-light flights in Nepal from 1996 is very likely to start commercial hang-gliding in the near future. Natasha Shrestha, managing director of Avia Club shared that hang-gliding is faster than paragliding. Paragliders fly at a speed of around 40 km per hour while the speed of a hang-glider is around 60 km per hour.
The club have already obtained permission from CAAN for hang-gliding. Expect to see hang-gliders soon in Pokhara. A great new addition for the thrill-seekers in Nepal. And another great way to get panoramic views of the Annapurna range.
PS. Just sharing an extremely breathtaking photo of an ultra-light flight into the mountains.
