It’s that time of the year again when Nepali women go on a frantic search for all things red. Teej is just around the corner and I’m sure many have already gone on a hunt for that perfect red saree, jewellery to go along and that perfect tika. Asian Mahila Association (AMA) returns with their annual Teej Party on August 25 at Farnborough’s Samuel Cody Sports College (Oak Farm School). This years party is also AMA’s eighth Teej Party so expect nothing but the best. The ladies at AMA have always managed to throw the best Teej parties in the area, I’m sure you’ll agree by viewing the photos from the past years. I seriously wonder where all these women get all the energy to dance in those heavy sarees and all. The party whick kicks off at 2PM will have the usual stage performances, delicious food and a guaranteed knock out dance party.
If you’re feeling a little rusty then don’t forget to polish your moves for the party because the AMA team will be looking out for Best Dancer Hajur AMA, Best Dance AMA and Best Dance Chori. If you’re moves are exciting enough then who knows you maybe you’ll end up going home with fantastic goodies ranging from beauty products to home accessories. In addition to that, there are exciting prizes up for grabs so don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket.
Get your tickets now for £10 or you can buy it on the day for £15. Tickets for children cost £6. The ticket cost also covers food. Of course, why buy a ticket when you can WIN a pair of tickets! Head over to the Asian Mahila Association Facebook page, LIKE them and SHARE the photo of their Teej Party poster on your Facebook profile and who knows, maybe you’ll bag yourself the pair of tickets for the AMA Teej Party!
