Malvika Subba Promotes HAMRI BAHINI Bags!

Popular figure Malvika Subba has been promoting the Hamri Bahini bags for a while now. The initiative encourages people of Kathmandu to carry their own re-usable bags and avoid buying and using plastic bags. The Green Social Enterprise run by Himalayan Climate Initiative creates, provides and influences others to provide respectable jobs to disadvantaged young women while addressing urban environmental problems.

Miss Subba was recently spotted visiting the Bhat-Bhateni Department Store where she informed the staff regarding the advantages of the Hamri Bahini bag initiative.

It is really nice to see re-usable bags being encouraged and promoted in Kathmandu. This is something that I feel has come a little late in the UK, nonetheless – better late than never. SO its quite surprising and encouraging to know that such initiatives have been rolled out in Nepal.

PS. Its quite amusing to read peoples comments about the poor customer service by the Bhat-Bhateni staff… is anyone from BB reading? Time to take note and work on it?

  1. These recent times the customer service has been negligible and the workers there do not care about getting the variety of things to purchase (One of the poorest customer service in town) . For the 5th time the purchased items were wrongly counted and billed, while checking the amount twice which has become my habit now (thanks to Bhat bhateni), I saved 500!! I have heard so many instances when the bill is wrongly handed.
