Some History:

The ‘Heritage @ Mallaj’ is a 110 years old property perched above Parbat, Beni at 1,205 meters, 2 hours out of Pokhara, now renovated to serve discerning guests.

The property was originally constructed in 1904 by Colonel Tej Bahadur Malla, bringing craftsmen and artisans from Kathmandu to bring to life a design of the then famous architects Kumar and Kishor Narsingh Rana.

Unfortunately he never got to live in the property, as he was posted to Palpa as Bada Hakim as it was being completed. However his wife and children did live here for many years before moving to Kumari, Bhairahawa around 1960. After which the property lay empty and slowly nature started to overpower the creation of man and the property deteriorated and became dilapidated.

In 2012, the great grandson of the Colonel, Mukunda Malla, having held a management position in a premier 5 star property in Kathmandu along with heading DHL Nepal as Country Head and being the CEO of SCT, decided to take the bold step of stepping into the heritage of his forefathers and climbing back up to Mallaj to renovate and bring life back to this magnificant property.
