PEACE ON EARTH – Photo and Video Competition

Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Nepal will be marking the International Peace Day on September 21st by holding a PEACE ON EARTH video and photography contest. The contest on the theme of ‘peace’ will be judged by film makers, media personalities and photographers. The blog is the blog partner for the PEACE ON EARTH photo and video competition and you will see more updates along the way.

Getting to the important details – you have until September 7 to submit your photos or videos. Two deserving winners will get the opportunity to intern with the celebrity film-maker and director Tshering Rhitar Sherpa of Uma and Mukundo fame. The Top 3 winners will also receive additional gift hampers.


Speaking about the contest, communications coordiantor of SFCG Nepal Ayush Joshi shared “The nation-wide peace video and photo competition titled, ‘Peace on Earth’ is designed to echo the message of collaboration, trust and unity among people to pedestal peace in Nepal. We are looking for submissions that are creative, backed up with a strong story, and establishes peace as the backbone of development,”.

Special screenings of the 5 minute videos and photo exhibitions of the TOP 30 submissions will be organized in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur. The event is organized by Search for Common Ground Nepal in collaboration with Nepal Music Festival, Open Space Nepal, Onion Films, Artudio, blog parter –, Sparrow SMS, Chaimmale Resorts, Thames International College, and Nepal Tourism Board in Pokhara. The deadline of the contest is 7 th September, 2016, and winners of the video and photography contest will be announced on 21 st September, 2016.
