Did you know that the number one cause of death for Australian men aged 15-44 years is suicide! That’s three times that of women. Gus Worland, co-host of the Sydney Triple M Grill team went on a mission to find out what it really means to be a man today and how the average Aussie bloke is actually faring. This has given us the MAN UP – TV SERIES!
Whilst the focus here is in Australia, the notion that men need to be strong and tough is one that is held all over. Men talking about their feelings or crying is seen as something that’s challenging their masculinity, “that’s not manly” as you often hear people say. I hope you watch this, whether you are a man or a woman. “Because silence can kill” – that’s the important line here… we need to speak up and share. It’s take guts to share your pain and share what you’re feeling but it’s ten times better to have someone to share with then go at it alone.
