The trendiest mall in the capital exuded more life than usual earlier this month with the third Namaste Eid event. Presented by Samyang and powered by Muslim Commission and Visit Nepal 2020, the multicultural event was a melting pot of people from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate Eid and conclude the fasting month of Ramadan.
Islamic culture was on full display on Saturday, June 8th with the main attraction being the Modest Modern Hijab Fashion show by Nuzhat Qazi which showcased the popular Raveena Desraj Shrestha, Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada and Priyanka Karki walking the ramp wearing a Hijab. Organised by Open Space Network, Namaste Eid 2019 also went live on Kantipur TV.
Speaking about the event, founder Faija Parween expressed “We wanted to make this a platform to strengthen and unite local communities by reviving, celebrating and sharing the essence of Eid. The support we’ve received this year has encouraged us, even more, to work harder and attain greater heights in the coming years”.
