The Helicopter For Nepal’s VVIP Lands in Kathmandu

The Agusta Westland ‘AW 139’ chopper landed in Kathmandu this week! The brand new helicopter has been bought by Nepal Army for VVIP purposes, to ferry the Prime Minister and President of Nepal across various official trips. According to AviationNepal, the chopper is the second in the Agusta fleet for Nepal Army.

The chopper normally seats up to 15 people, however it has been modified to seat 8. Looks like there’ll be plenty of legroom there 😉 The AW139 is used across the world for VIP transport, fire fighting, search and rescue to disaster relief. According to web estimates, the Agusta Westland AW139 was valued at $12 million USD in 2013.

A quick Google Image search is drawing up exciting results of other August Westland AW139 chopper with a VIP / luxury interior. I can’t imagine how the VVIP chopper for Nepal Army will be designed. Hope the photos surface for our viewing lol!

PS. The photo supporting this blogpost is not the exact photo of the aircraft in Nepal.
