Dinner With Shristi Shrestha

Events & Ideas and Miss UK Nepal team successfully organised the Dinner with Miss Nepal World 2012 (Shristi Shrestha) event on 10th June at SoAsia restaurant in Slough. In attendance were over few hundred that came to support the new Miss Nepal Shristi and her recent initiative to help the fire victims of Siraha and flood victims from the Seti River. Shristi who hails from Narayangadh, Chitwan was born in Nepal. During her speech she emphasized on the importance of Nepalis living abroad to contribute to their motherland directly or indirectly and also on the greater need for NRN’s to make a significant impact in Nepal. Playing on the background, the audience was able to view videos of when Shristi visited Siraha. Hopefully, I will get my hands on those videos very soon and you all can view the work that our Miss Nepal 2012 has started. Such contributions should be made by every individual and not only by those who have the platform or the reach. It starts from us, you and me. The event had many important stakeholders of the Nepalese community including His Excellency Dr Suresh Chandra Chalise Ambassador of Nepal. Shristi was congratulated at least a dozen times. There was even an exciting traditional Newari music Dhimai played for our new Miss Nepal. The event which had musical and dance performances by Deeksha Rai, Deepak Gurung, Tara Gurung, Situ Kharel, Neelam Gurung was hosted by former Miss UK Nepal 2010 Nabina Gurung.

Wishing Shristi all the best for her current training that she’s undergoing for Miss World and I hope one day soon we can have Dinner with Miss World ; )

PS. All the photos were taken by me. Professional photos can probably be found online, elsewhere.
#PS. Once I find out how much was raised then I shall surely update with the figure.
