SOONGAVA – Dance of the Orchids is set to screen all over Nepal from Friday 4th January onwards. The film has repeatedly grabbed headlines for its unconventional theme featuring a love story between two women. The lead protagonists are being played by the beautiful Diya Maskey and the feisty Nisha Adhikari. Man of the moment, Saugat Malla will also be seen in the 80 minute long film. Having received the opportunity to watch the film several months ago in the UK, I have nothing but positive words for the film. There are nice twists and turns in the film and that will surely make you have several ‘Ooh’ moments. The film remains a love story, it is not one of those films that are begging for your attention to highlight this or that social issue, however in its own subtle way it does cover quite a range of things. It has romance, drama and some fine acting. Do make some time to catch Soongava in a cinema you.
SOONGAVA has been directed by Subarna Thapa. Thapa will also be seen acting alongside Malvika Subba in the upcoming Goodbye Kathmandu (no idea regarding the release date). The film had its first premier show at the recent Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2012. Nisha and Dia looked gorgeous in their dresses and Saugat definitely brings the cool factor on the red carpet. Without a doubt, Malvika Subba looks the part as always.
Just few days ago the SOONGAVA team went Eastside to Dharan for a charity screening. The show was graced by the two leading ladies of the film including Malvika Subba who hosted the event. The screening was organized by Veemall Rai and Danny Limbu. Diya and Nisha are totally working their sarees.SOONGAVA – Dance of the Orchids Screening in UK – SOONGAVA
