Twitter is great! Not only will it let you obsessively stalk your favourite celebrity but it will also show you whats happening around the world in a matter of seconds. Hashtag it and search away! This is what I came across recently, a tweet by DFID Nepal announcing the completion of the Sabha Khola bridge in Sankhuwasabha district. It is said that the bridge will be improving access for over 800,000 Nepalis. The bridge is estimated to have cost £2 Million pounds and is part of Britain’s Rural Access Program.
Awesome work by DFID. They will be opening a second bridge in June later this year around the Arun River region. DFID’s Nepal budget is £269 million for the three year period 2012/13-2014/15. They have their anti-corruption strategy in place to make sure that the UK Aid reaches the people it is intended to. Find out more on their twitter at @DFIDNepal
