Whilst many in Nepal find the idea of celebrating Earth Hour ludicrous, here is how the momentous occasion was celebrated in Pokhara today. Thousands of people gathered at Basundhara Park to enjoy music by Abhaya and the Steam Injuns in the presence of Nepal’s biggest celebrity Rajesh Hamal and former Miss Nepal and WWF Young Conservation Ambassador Shristi Shrestha.
Were you there today? Let us know what you made of the event or for the many of you, what do you guys think? Celebrating the ONE HOUR Switch Off by having a concert which consumes huge amounts of energy? Should WWF Nepal find better and simpler ways of observing the Earth Hour… maybe like the traditional candle light-up around Boudhanath Stupa or the Maitighar Roundabout.
