The Marriott Kathmandu will be opening its doors by the beginning of 2016 in Thamel. Nepal Hospitality Group (NHG) recently signed a management agreement with a subsidiary of Marriott International on Thursday in Kathmandu. It was only few weeks ago that we learned about the Sheraton Kathmandu happening for real and now this new development. This is another positive step for the tourism industry in Nepal. Marriott Kathmandu will be a four-star property in Thamel. The ten-storey hotel with an investment of Nrs 650 million will have 108 rooms. In addition to this, the group involved in this venture are said to be announcing another international hotel chain link up very soon.
Seems like the hospitality sector is indeed heading towards the right direction. Now, less of the bandhs and better management of what we do have would make the city and the country a wonderful place to visit for Nepalis and non-Nepalis. Wonderful news.
