Nattu is one of the very first Nepali YouTubers to make a big name for herself. Her popularity and her followers are worldwide. Ma Dherai Maya Garchu also known as Nattu’s song has been repeatedly covered, performed and shared online. The bubbly singer is also a wonderful performer who has the ability to liven up any crowd and have them laughing all night. If she’s not singing then she’s making short videos on youtube to entertain her viewers. Her latest Sumina Ghimire parody is very funny.
The YouTube singer released her first debut album ‘Nattu’ last month at the Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu. I finally got my copy of Nattu earlier today and it has been playing all day. The album consists of seven songs including Ma Dherai Maya Garchu and Pahilo Maya. People who have listened to Nattu’s originals online may find the album version a little different because she actually has a full supporting band consisting of Kripesh Lohani, Pratik Thapa, Abhishek Thapa and Azyt Tamang. It’s good though, the music definitely sounds richer.
NATTU is now available in stores and on iTunes – please support Nepali musicians by buying their music legally on iTunes rather than downloading it from youtube.
PS. Looks like the track Maya Ko Bato will be receiving the video treatment very soon. It would be a crime if Ma Dherai Maya Garchu and Pahilo Maya do not get the video treatment.
