London’s very first Walk for Nepal walkathon event took place on July 27 at Richmond Park. The successful event managed to attract 130 walkers and raise £2500 for various charities. The 3 mile (up to 5 mile) walk saw the participation of a mix of young and old people. One half of the Aastha band, Sudip Gurung was also spotted at Walk for Nepal. The sole purpose of Walk for Nepal is to engage communities across the world to bring positive social change in Nepal. The walk which took place for the very first time in Boston in 2011 has travelled to different cities including Dallas, Washington DC and New York.
The associated charities with WfN London were Help Nepal Network, GMIN UK, Naya Yuva, Live for Change, MUKTI UK, Heartbeat UK and Kosheli. Huge thank you to Nepal.FM for the photos – more photos on their Facebook page.
