The group behind the success of Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat and Shangri-La Village in Pokhara will be opening a new high-end resort by the name of THE LOST HORIZON at Begnas in Pokhara. The construction is expected to start in the beginning of 2015 with a goal for the resort to come into operation after a year.
“The resort will cater to high-end tourists and we are tying to make it one of the best hotel in the world. For this we are investing NRS 500 million. This will be the only resort from where one can have a view of lake, forest and see four mountains above 8,000 meters.” said Prasiddha Bahadur Pandey, Executive Director of Hotel Shangri-La.
For its initial phase, The Lost Horizon will have 40 exclusive villa type cottages. The resort will offer a spa, unique rooms with hanging balconies, lounge bar, conference hall, swimming pool and more. Architect Alex Shrestha will be responsible for designing the resort. The Lost Horizon has already been dubbed to be environmentally friendly with a pledge to not disturb the natural surrounding of the area, run on solar power and offer organic food. The resort is expected to create jobs for 200 people with a special focus on local employment.
