Nishes Shrestha and Suman Shrestha’s HIMALAYAN DOG CHEW came as a huge surprise! It was during a dinner twelve years ago when Suman spotted Nishes’ dog chewing on Himalayan hard cheese also known as chhurpi/durkhuwa. After that, the duo immersed themselves in extensive research for a good few years until rolling out their very own HIMALAYAN DOG CHEW in 2007. They currently operate from Seattle and distribute their products to over 5000 retailers.
The team now consists of Sujan Shrestha, Suman Shrestha and Nishes Shrestha. The Shrestha’s have created a consortium of 3000 farmers who work across the Himalayas in Nepal. The farmers “collect roughly six gallons of milk to make two pounds of Himalayan Dog Chew”.
