With the earthquake relief efforts now focusing on rehabilitation, reconstruction and rebuilding there are many groups and organisations currently busy with planning and construction. HOMES FOR HUMANITY by Junkiri Initiatives and Mission to Help Nepal is a long term housing solution which is expected to be a cluster of housing community (28 housing units).

A single housing unit will have four rooms, two kitchen, two verandahs, solar system and smokeless chulo to accommodate two families. Materials for the construction will consist of CGI sheet roofing, bamboo wall, mud mortar on bamboo wall and stone blocks for flooring. The community will share a 9′ diameter well and 2 latrine blocks (8 for ladies 5 toilet for men and 4 urinals for men) and washing and cleaning area.

The pilot project will commence from two villages, Ghampey Danda and Khokana. According to an assessment done by the Homes for Humanity team, 55 houses have completely collapsed in Ghampey Danda whilst approximately 100 have collapsed in Khokana.

Over £10,000 has been raised so far and the Homes for Humanity team have a target of £25,000.
