Nepal’s TARA AIR received a brand new Viking DHC6-400 twin otter aircraft in Kathmandu yesterday. The brand new aircraft landed in Tribhuvan International Airport after flying almost 60 hours in a span of seven days from the Viking factory in Canada. Tara Air which serves the rural STOL routes across the country intends to gradually replace it’s entire fleet of Series 300 and Dornier Do228-212 aircraft with the new Viking Series 400 aircraft.
The Series 400 boasts cutting edge avionics technology with an integrated full glass cockpit that features the Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and a full colour Weather Radar.
Tara Air is scheduled take delivery of it’s second factory new Viking 400 aircraft in September 2015. Sounds good – way to go Tara Air!
