Light Up Nepal was organized on October 19th at Liverpool John Moores University with a special talk on “Education in Nepal pre and post-earthquake”.  The event also generated awareness on the situation of post-earthquake Nepal. Visitors were able to get a glimpse of Nepal through artwork and photography from Fairtrade Connection Crafts, Pahar Trust and Unite for Nepal.

A map outline of Nepal was created with candles in the ground of John Lennon Art and Design Building of Liverpool John Moores University. The candles were lit in memory of those that lost their lives during the earthquake that took place six months ago. Light Up Nepal also collected donations for a future project which will be supporting education in Nepal through training and provisions for resource allocation. Food is always at the heart of Nepalese events and guests were seen deliciously trying out the momos catered by Saffron Waterloo Restaurant.
