NEPAL has made it on the The Cool List: 16 for 2016 compiled by the National Geographic Traveller magazine. The list which was published on the 3rd of December includes diverse parts of the world from Iran, Mozambique to the Great Barrier Reef. Even though we have a crappy airport and a lot of things may not really be functioning, it’s wonderful that the natural beauty and culture of the country is the biggest draw in attracting travellers from all over the world. Protection of our natural heritage sites and areas of beauty should definitely be a priority in the long-run.

This is what Nat Geo Traveller had to say:

“Tourist numbers to Nepal plummeted by 85% after the devastating earthquakes, but the country is once more open for business and safe to visit, with a new government-backed website providing official updates on affected areas. This is a nation that has long relied heavily on tourism, with many visitors lured by the chance to combine voluntourism with an adventure holiday in a stunning landscape.”

The Cool List: 16 for 2016

Iran – Costa Rica – Washington DC – Ireland – Cuba – Nepal – Shanghai – Mozambique – St Vincent and The Grenadines – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Somerset – Rio de Janeiro – Kazakhstan – Argentina – San Sebastien – The Great Barrier Reef
