Ubran Dictionary definition:

throwback: A sudden reminder of the past. This can be brought about by hearing a song from high school, seeing an ex. etc.’

throwback thursday: When you put a picture from a “while” ago on your social media sites’

Right. Now that we’ve cleared what the term throwback or throwback thursday means, I will share on this post some music from the past that has been buzzing on my mind lately. Maybe we have similar taste? Let me know what songs playing on your mind…

SONIYE from AKSAR Film (Hindi)

Once upon a time, I used to watch quite a few Hindi films around 2004-2006 when I used to live and study in Nepal. Even though this film was pretty much forgettable, I still enjoy listening to this song and it also reminds me of those years living in Kathmandu. I watched the film because Udita Goswami is beautiful. You like?

EKAI NAJAR MA by Deepesh Bhattarai (Nepali)

Can I just say, they don’t make music like this anymore? I believe this is a remake of a classic. The video itself is quite cray’. The moment when the girl pushes the guy into the river!! Such a badass boss lady haha! My specific memory from this song is hearing it on a Maruti Taxi Van (slightly bigger than the normal 5 seater) from Biratnagar Airport to Dharan in 2005 I think! I just remember listening to this and looking out into the flat lands.

MESMERIZE by Ja Rule ft Ashanti (American)

I’m not too sure if this song was released in 2002 or 2003 but I distinctly remember this song being blasted by everyone when we used to live in Folkestone. The feels!!! Ashanti’s street look in the video is soooo lol. Damn, I definitely miss all the songs that Ja Rule and Ashanti did together. Hip Hop and R&B then was pretty sweet. Ahh!

Alright! So this is it for the #ThrowbackThursday – Music Post. Maybe I’ll have Movies in the future. Let’s see. Tell me what you think and don’t forget to share the songs playing on your mind on the comment box below.
