New Domestic Terminal At Tribhuvan International Airport

The new domestic terminal at the Tribhuvan International Airport was officially inaugurated on Wednesday after a two-year long delay. The domestic terminal which is located adjacent to the previous domestic terminal is a disable-friendly building made at a cost of Nrs 119.8 Million. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the new building provides twice the facilities that the previous terminal did with office space for over a dozen airlines, restaurants, rest-rooms and a large departure terminal space. The new domestic terminal has been designed to be in use till 2028. I am sure it will be in use for much longer though, lol.

This new promising development comes at a time when annual figures from domestic airlines are showing a fall in passenger movement. The authorities have yet to decide regarding the use of the existing domestic air-terminal.

I really hope the building is maintained well, cleaned well, used effectively and efficiently.
