Nepali Teen Gaurika Singh Will Be The Youngest Olympian at Rio!

Thirteen year old swimmer Gaurika Singh will be the youngest athlete at the Olympic Games in Rio! The sporting event which kicks off in Brazil from the 5th of August will see the London based thirteen year old Nepali compete in the 100m backstroke heats on Sunday. Keep an eye out for Gaurika!

When she’s not breaking national records or representing Nepal internationally, Gaurika swims at the Barnet Copthall Swimming Club. The thirteen year old lives in London with her family.

Gaurika won one silver and three bronze medals at the 12th South Asian Games earlier this year. She currently holds the national record of 1 minute 07.31 seconds in the 100m backstroke. Gaurika hopes to beat her record at the Olympic game.

What an incredibly hard-working and gifted young talent. Special shout-out to her parents for supporting her along the journey. Creating a legacy she is.
