AVATAAR KATHMANDU HOTEL: Your Home in Kathmandu

Located on Z Street in Thamel, Avataar Kathmandu Hotel is convenient for travellers to locals planning for a memorable weekend in the capital city. I first stayed at Avataar Kathmandu when I needed to find a hotel for New Year’s Eve! I quickly opened the Booking.com app and within seconds I found Avataar Kathmandu thanks to its high rating, affordable price and appealing photos of the rooms. I am always drawn towards lighting and I really liked how the rooms looked so bright. My first stay at the hotel in December 31st 2014 was a personal stay. However, my most recent stay at the hotel was an invited stay by the hotel management.

Unsurprisingly, I was delighted to return. The twin room came with a swanky bathroom looking into the bedroom, equipped with a microwave, extra storage space and a kettle to boil your own brew! The spacious room almost felt like a studio apartment. Besides the mini-fridge, LCD TV and the functioning AC, the room also had a balcony looking out to the busy Z Street. With the hotel being minutes from popular spots like Sams Bar, New Orleans Restaurant and Shisha Terrace, it’s perfect for a first-time traveller in Nepal. Of course, the hotel has it’s very own Avataar Cafe which I must say is pretty affordable as I have come across affordable hotels but expensive restaurants (hotel restaurant) in the past. Their onion rings are something that my friend and I drop by for time and again.

You may have seen me slightly freaking out on Instagram Story and Snapchat over the mirrors but I really dig the mirrors with the back-light (if that’s what you call it) at the rooms in Avataar!

Avataar Kathmandu welcomes not only non-Nepali tourists but also Nepalis from home and away. The hotel has announced 50% off their tariff rates for Nepalese residing across the globe as their new campaign ‘Your Home in Kathmandu’. Sweet!
