Kathmandu Triennale Mega Art Event From March 24

Previously known as the Kathmandu International Art Festival, the Kathmandu Triennale (KT) 2017, a mega art event by Siddhartha Arts Foundation (SAF) to promote Nepali arts and culture is set to commence the 24th of March at Siddharth Art Gallery. KT 2017 will be curated by Philippe Van Cauteren (Belgium) on the theme of The City in association with Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kinst of Gent, Belgium.

With a mission to promote Nepali arts and culture and to establish Kathmandu as a cultural hub for socially aware art practices, this years theme will be a catalyst for a contemporary reflection on the relationship between art, the city and its heritage and is dedicated to the people who lost their lives in the Great Earthquakes of 2015.

KT 2017 will feature two overlapping components, exhibitions and encounters. Whilst exhibitions will include all visual content produced for display, encounters will include all outreach built on the exhibition. The exhibition will open on March 24 and run until April 9 at various venues.
