Nrs 50 Million For More SAJHA BUS In Kathmandu

Commuting across Kathmandu may have just gotten better. The very popular SAJHA BUS will be adding 12 deluxe buses with one semi-low floor bus for Kathmandu. The news comes after the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya announced NRS 50 Million (Nrs 5 Karod) support for Sajha Yatayat. Mayor Shakya handed over the cheque to Sajha Yatayat’s chairman Kanak Mani Dixit at an event in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning.

With gradual improvement and introduction of new traffic rules in the valley, it’s important that existing public transport is continuously improved for the millions of commuters in Kathmandu. Whilst support to Sajha is undoubtedly a welcome news, it is equally important to focus on the age-old buses that continue to ply the city roads.

Alas, we can hope that more Sajha Buses or similar providers if not better than Sajha roam the streets of Kathmandu and beyond.
