Fifth EKADESHMA International Short Film Festival From NOV 16-19

The EKADESHMA INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL makes a triumphant return on 16th November in Kathmandu with 99 films from 43 countries. The films of the world will be screening at the QFX Cinema in Kathmandu between 16 to 19 November. With the theme ‘Let There Be Light’ tapping on the optimism of Nepali people – the festival hopes to continue to spread the magic of cinema and storytelling to many more viewers.

The organisers of the event have chosen to celebrate womanhood with this years thematic focus on ‘POWER’. The festival aims to create discourse on feminism as a social, cultural and a political construct. The main jury for the short film festival will be the talented actress Manisha Koirala. Koirala will be joined by Paolo Bertolin and Mostofa Sarwar Farooki for the Changing Perspectives Section which is focused on searching and identifying short narratives with strong in-depth imagination. For the Future Of Cinema Section, the jury consists of Nepali film actress Namrata Shrestha, Yangesh and Abu Shahed Emon.
