Designer Sanyukta Shrestha Donates Masks in England and Nepal

Giving bridal designs a break, Sanyukta Shrestha has been busy making face masks and visors to support the NHS and key workers in the UK. The London based bridal designer has redeployed her team to serve the nation’s heroes at the moment with PPE support for hospitals and care homes as well as organisations caring for vulnerable groups in Nepal.

The Sanyukta Shrestha team recently donated face masks and essential food supplies to “Aamako Ghar” in Kathmandu. The Nepal team are currently working towards the feasibility of creating PPE suits. Over in England, the designer has been making cotton masks as per CDC guidelines with some having the option to add an extra layer of filter protection, nose grip and detachable eye protection. The designer shared “We felt strongly that we need to use our
skills to support our doctors, nurses, medical staff and key workers. It has not been easy sourcing material during this lockdown however along with our team we have tried our best to take our own initiative to give back to these brave warriors by using our skills and resources.”

The award-winning designer is known for her elegant bridal designs and her stance on sustainable and ethical fashion. It’s really good to see Nepalese creatives and enterprises step in and scale their efforts to support people during this period of uncertainty. To continue the teams voluntary work, the designer has created a JustGiving online page.
