Britain has temporarily suspended student visa applications from northern India, Nepal and Bangladesh after a sharp rise in numbers, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) said Sunday. Good news to all the Nepalis who arent going to face the struggle and the difficulty which they would have had to but this is a sad news to all those students who really had the intention to study in the UK.
Jeremy Oppenheim, of the UKBA, said: “We continually check and monitor all student applications and education providers to ensure that they meet the required standards set by the Points Based System.
“As a result of this routine monitoring and an increase in applications we have temporarily stopped accepting new applications from North India, Nepal and Bangladesh while we carry out an investigation to ensure they are all genuine.”
Lastly, many students who’ve come from Nepal are having to face a suspended college/institute which had led many to return back to Nepal while others have recieved 28 days to find another college. Why is this happening in the first place? The British Consulate in Nepal which takes a lengthy amount of time to process each application should take it as their responsibility to ensure that such colleges are up to working order and meets the requirement of British ‘whatever’.
I sometimes feel as if this is just a little plot to bring all the students/money in and then send them away slowly. Ah Well, to those who are here, Study Hard, Work hard, Whatever your intentions are.
Its actually sad to see how many Nepalese students are suffering cos of bogus colleges. They dream of good education and good life but they end up enrolling with bogus colleges and getting send back to Nepal cos of those colleges. I think the british govt has to be strict about these type of colleges cos when you live in another country you don’t know what kind of college they are and you tend to trust them.
