Vote Because You Can!

We live in a democracy which comes from the Greek word ‘demokratia’ where ‘demos’ stands for people and ‘kratos’ for power. It translates simply as ‘power to the people’. One of the key features of a democracy is a free and fair election.
And for an election to be fair people have to vote. In 2005 only 60% of the population voted and 34% out of that 60% voted Labour. Gradually, we are being governed by people with less support and more authority in their hands. The one way to stop this is to vote.

Vote because you care about the environment, immigration, jobs, the economy, your education and because you can. For one day you may wake up and find you can’t.
