Dance Bar Fiasco in Kathmandu

Going to a Dance Bar is very popular in Kathmandu since theres one in every chowk, no joke – even Chakrapth has a ‘TITANIC’ Dance Bar. Its basically where you go to have a drink and girls dance. There are a limited few dance bars with good standards, meaning – no vulgarity. However the rest is – promoting illicit sex, vulgarity and prostitution. The government has introduced various laws including the curfew time of 11PM to curb the increasing Dance Bar activities.etc however I feel as if they should just legalize the whole thing since its already too big to handle. There’s one everywhere! Seriously, maybe people will eventually get tired of it or they should just have a Dance Bar Association where they limit the number of Bars sprouting up on each settlement. Here’s a list of pictures below of X-Bar (i believe so) which apparently had been in operation for 9 years. Last week a police team comprising 80 personnel raided the whole bar and arrested the workers, dancers and customers. I believe this is basically a way for the police to make quick cash, NRS 10,000 is the amount to set yourself free. That will all go into the police’s pockets. The owner of the bar is believed to be Stalin Sherchan who has also recently opened the I-Club in Durbar Marg and he has still not been arrested.  :/ . Do you smell rat? Enjoy the pics.

Tell me of your dance bar experiences if you’ve got any?  😀
Imagine getting your parents to bail you out from the cops and telling them you were at a dance bar :/.
