Fashion/Style/Haute Couture is slowly but definitely picking up in Kathmandu. Quite impressive for a city that does not have a thriving fashion industry. Officially joining the clique is designer Nuzhat Qazi with the launch of ‘HOUSE OF FASHION’ earlier this week on the 3rd of March in Lazimpat. The launch had Kathmandu’s popular models showcasing the designs as well as former Miss Nepal Sadichha Shrestha and the hero of the moment, Saugat Malla. The crowd comprised of friends of House of Fashion to the who’s who of Nepali showbiz industry 😉

Qazi states that House of Fashion is more of a mixture between art and fashion which aims to provide platform for those needing exposure. Visiting ‘House of Fashion’ itself maybe a visual treat for many! It is an oasis where one can view clothes, observe the paintings that decorate the walls of the showroom and admire the sculptures by Meena Kayastha. And all of these are available to buy! If you are wondering what type of clothes you can expect, well any type. From high-end gowns, casual dresses, semi-casuals for men and formal attires; all are available!

Kathmandu… well atleast some parts of it seems to be rapidly getting ahead of the game. What do you guys make of it? Should more be done ‘outside’ of Kathmandu?
