NOMINATED: Pushpa Basnet for CNN HERO!

She has always been loving, kind and a hard-working person and now the whole world can see a glimpse of that. Nominated for the CNN Heroes Award is 28 year old Pushpa Basnet from Nepal for her work in providing a new life for the many children that have ended up accompanying their mothers in Nepal’s prisons. Aside from giving education and raising over 100 children at the Butterfly Home, Pushpa is also the founder of the Early Childhood Development Center. Having started her journey at the age of 21, Pushpa found the early days slightly challenging as she faced having to sell this idea that she could do this to her parents, government officials at prisons to the imprisoned mothers. Nevertheless, it’s her determination and drive that has won the respect of hundreds towards her work and what she has set out to do.

Over from my side’, I wish Pushpa all the best and shall get ready to VOTE. Hopefully in the days to come the government can push for a children’s home dedicated to those with mothers imprisoned.

  1. Salute to the great woman who sacrificed most of her young days in taking care of the children who needed support. Instead of going out getting dressed like any other woman normally does at the age of just 21, she started a journey to help others. Bless her..Lots of love and blessing,
