Sydney absolutely seems to have a thriving Nepali community! I can soo see myself attending one of many Nepali clubbing parties or movie screenings et al. Recently I shared information about a Nepali Art Exhibition taking place in Sydney organised by Miss Nepal Australia Reecha Dhital and the UNAE team, this post is about the outcome of the event.
As shared by Reecha Dhital, the art exhibition which ran on the 24th March was a grand success with one painting sold of each artist. Though her goal may have been to donate only $500 to Moti Community Library, the unexpected success has led to her and the team donating a whopping Nrs 1 Lakh.
“Moti community library” of Parbat plays major role towards school and library project through its charity and community activities. They have already established 140 libraries in public schools of that district and still moving ahead to create 197 more, of which the targeted number this year is 29.
Her last post on lexlimbu.com where she asked for your support was well received by quite a number of readers and I guess her charm definitely worked at the event too as the event collected a donation of $140. She extends her gratitude to everyone that attended, supported and were part of the team and lastly wants to share to all that one does not need to charge a lot to give back to community. “We don’t need more money (or take more money for a charity event) to make it successful but heart and belief to turn it into a reality” – Reecha Dhital
