An upcoming short-film titled Bansulli – The Flute by Min Bham has officially made it on the line-up for the 69th Venice International Film Festival. The film comes under the production house of Underground Talkies and Black Horse Pictures, famed for bringing LOOT to the public. Venice film festival runs from August 29 to September 8 and Bansulli will be screened under Horizons Short Films section. If you happen to be based in Venice or visiting around the time then do go and check out the oldest international film festival in the world and also grab a ticket to watch Bansulli.
It’s amazing to hear of our films being screened internationally, however I do worry at times that such movies won’t be able to leave such a big imprint in the home turf. They’ do not seem to appeal to the mass. Nonetheless, even receiving acknowledgment for or being labeled for such non-mainstream films would be a good exposure for the Nepali film industry in the international circuit. Can’t wait for Bansulli.
