Some contestants didn’t even answered well and they won awards and a place in the top three… and some who actually answered well enough didn’t win anything… You CALL THIS FAIRNESS. THIS IS A WASTE OF PEOPLE’S TIME AND MONEY!!!!

25. Durga Gurung is caked in make up, i don’t understand how people can consider her more beautiful than the others. Her final answer didn’t even stand out. I just don’t understand how she won. She looks like one of Thailand’s lady boys, only because of the amount of make up. I am sure or at least hope she’s a beautiful person inside and out.

26. This makes me laugh, Nepali’s fighting on the streets, Nepali’s fighting online, what’s new? How is there going to be improvement if people can’t be constructive, whatever their opinion – positive or negative.

    Anyway, if there is an accusation of caste being a factor, this event just goes to show, whether you have Baun, Newar, Gurung or whatever in power, people will point to caste as an excuse. So Baun or Gurung bashing isn’t really valid. To get round this, did the organisers ever publicise the rules, fairness, judging criteria or reasons for the scoring?

P.s last year Gaumaya deserved it no matter what . its not just coz some judge favored her.look at the work she has done to the society and her capabilities of doing this was visible during the contest. Nabina deserved it as well I think so haha though she did not come off as strong as gaumaya did. And did not do much for the community as she claimed she would.

    “Culture is viewed as a mirror to the society, how do you agree to that?”
    Yes, everyone answered well to that. But I am very doubtful about the way the three contestants answered it, the way they calculated/processed the judge’s scores.,, And notice the winners were already sitting close to each other on the left and the two contestants who wouldn’t win any thing were on the right… just a coincidence?? hmm..
    Also, do the judges not take into consideration any points from previous rounds?
    Honestly mann, Ashika Rai had all the talent, personality and confidence from the very beginning, others had to sort develop it. If you want proof, go see her introduction video, her presentation about the biggest topic “Global warming” and see how she talks. I also think she was copied by other contestants.

    The Organizers and the Judges must come forward and explain themselves and prove that the event was a clean one!! Otherwise as mentioned by many people they should just change that title name!! and not waste people’s talent, time, hard work and commitment.

    The top five actually deserved their places. It was the right decision. All five had answered very well to the final question by using the word “identity” but, only the three winners gave examples and explained themselves;

    *that they are a Nepali women,
    *they proud to be who they are,
    *a garden of 4 castes and 36 sub castes,
    *our unique cultures makes us renounced all over the world wherever we go.

    Those points were the strongest!! but, were they already prepared for such question by guessing or cheating? ONLY GOD KNOWS!! it’s not proved!!!
    We all know #5 and #6 were already the strongest since the beginning of the competition. Yes, they spoke quite well. But, considering the cat walks and dressing up in sari..were some of their weak points. They did not answered as SUFFICIENT as the question DEMANDED in the FINAL round. I mean it was the FINAL question that determined the top three!! #5 and #6 SHOULD have given their all!!! 3 mins was the time given to write the answer and they spoke less than that!! The top three spoke the longest COVERING the strongest points, Hence they won!!

    SO PLEASE PEOPLE DON’T SAY ANYTHING BAD TO THE WINNERS, BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN’T CHEAT, THEY REALLY EARNED IT!!!

    AND PLEASE EVERYONE DON’T BLAME THE “GURUNG” CASTE OR EVEN PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE ORGANIZERS AND JUDGES. BECAUSE IF THEY HAVEN’T PLAYED ANY DIRTY POLITICS!! THEN THEY DID THE BEST THEY COULD BUT MUCH NEEDS TO BE LEARNED AND IMPROVED AND NOT UNDERESTIMATED.

    IF WE FIGHT WITHIN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES, HOW WILL WE MOVE FORWARD AND BE SEEN BY OTHER COMMUNITIES. THIS IS UK A COUNTRY OF GREAT OPPORTUNITIES. LET US UNITE AND WORK TOGETHER FOR A GREATER GOOD!

    -Durga Gurung was asked a question by a judge from social sector in Nepali. She asked her to repeat her question in English again and again. WTF!!! We know the judge had little difficulty translating it in English and guess what Durga just took advantage of that and answered in English…

    How disrespectful! contestants!!! that’s the attitude Miss UK Nepal 2012’s winnerS have got!!!!
