Rising Nepali model Aastha Pokharel is one of the fourteen contestants to be participating in Asia’s Next Top Model 2012. The reality television show features a host of aspiring models from the Asia-Pacific region and ultimately aims to pave a way for many to start their career officially in the modeling industry. Expect the world premiere on November 4.
Twenty-one year old Aastha from Kathmandu stands just over five-feet nine-inches tall and credits this experience at Asia’s Next Top Model to be the highlight of her stint as a model so far. Those from Kathmandu are probably aware of Aastha’s catwalk skills as she’s racked up quite an experience in the past two years, she’s walked in countless fashion shows including the popular Nepal Fashion Week! This leggy lass has also been on various magazines including WAVE and Navyaata. #GoAastha
PS. It’s hugely encouraging to see fellow Nepalis all over the world doing exceptionally well. Proves that hard-work indeed does pay off.

over rated model, so much more beautiful girls in Nepal. Sad she was the one who is going to represent Nepal.
(sad, she is going to be the one to represent Nepal)*
LOL…Malai ekdummai hass uthcha when there is haters. Honestly I am astonished Nepali manche haruko negativity dekhera. FIRST get your facts right this is not a typical dallo face gori and thulo akha typical Nepali beauty contest. It about being a MODEL. You need HIGH cheekbones, long legs and you NEED to be 5’9 or taller. So tell do you know any girls like that in nepal? Also you need the right body for it on top of all that. That is why she is famous because she has all of that. Nepali people are short lets face it and her cheekbones and facial structure is very wanted in the modelling industry. So are there more beautiful girls in nepal? Yes. Are there more model material girls in Nepal? Not so much. She has worked so hard and I am so proud of her. Aastha girl dont listen to Nepali people that’s how they are they are mean and rude to their own people but once you rise up and become something they all pretend like they supported you all the way. So till then there will be haters. Its like Shristhi Shrestha all over again -__-. SUPPORT YOUR OWN PEOPLE YOU DUMBASSES. You will never see an Indian put down someone from their country that’s in a competition and that’s exactly why we arnt progressing.
some people just cant see others’ success, those ppl need some help, seriously, go see a psychiatric n ask why u cant appreciate it wen u see someone doing well n u feel the urge to pour out my negativity n jealousy all over for others too see?
I have only heard about this model a couple of times before and over rated or not, she is out there, competing at an international level representing OUR COUNTRY. she must have done something right to get to where she is and I respect her for that, and also I agree with the part about how she is different in looks and blah blah pointed out in the comment above.
One thing I don’t get, is if you hate haters so much and I assume you wouldn’t want to be one as well, why would you address a couple of trolls as “NEPALI PEOPLE”. Addressing them as haters wasn’t enough that you had to mention “they ALL pretend…”Half of your comment is full of hate.I am a nepali too but I am not a hater. I wouldn’t even hate you for commenting such a hateful comment.
I know the person that wrote the above comment must be very angry but cmon they kind of have the right to be. Everyone is very negative towards other people in our community. There is not a ‘few’ trolls there is so many of them now its not even funny. We really need to change that. I also hate the term ‘pretty for a nepali girl’ Nepali girls can be very beautiful and when other Nepali girls see someone that is exceptionally untypically beautiful they get jealous. As for the guys when there is someone exceptionally beautiful they immediately think she is cocky and that she thinks shes all that. Need to change our thinking as a society. Go Astha! She is fierce.
Good going 🙂 best of luck!
she is soooo hwattttttttttt
All the Best Astha! Go shine !!!
Good Luck and I hope that you will make Nepal proud!!!
