Miss UK Nepal 2012 Durga Gurung organized SAHAYOG, a fundraiser for DREAMS and Children and Youth First on Saturday, 30 March in Kingston, London. The fundraiser, a second effort by the Miss UK Nepal had performances by various Nepali artistes and groups from the Nepalese community in the UK. Several noted guests were present at the event including Dr Milan Adhikari. The audience were entertained by diverse performances from live music, stand-up comedy, Nepali cultural dances to Western style such as street dancing and BBOYING. Nabin Gurung from JPT Rockerz, MOTIF Dance crew, Ramailo Entertainment, ASNR, Double S and Pronto Technik were only some out of the many performers at SAHAYOG in Kingston.
The event raised over £1000 pounds on Saturday night with many donations still coming through. Payung Khola Samaj will be donating Nrs 1 Lakh in due course. Durga Gurung will be going to Nepal this July to continue the SAHAYOG campaign and visit the DREAMS office and Children and Youth First base in Bhaktapur. The young Miss Nepal also has plans in the future to conduct a Free Health Camp in Kaski in the near future. Well done to all the performers, volunteers and cooks backstage, give yourself a pat on the back as this event would not have been possible without you guys and you played a part in this campaign too, so kudos!
The photos are by B so photography and HawaChex Entertainment. I left the event a little early but I have to say I really enjoyed the dance performances by Pronto Technik and the MOTIF Dance crew. If I remember from the top of my head, the MOTIF boys also performed at the previous Beauty with a Purpose event and that was very entertaining. Likewise, the part where they danced without the music was pretty awesome to see. Great stuff by all.Join Lex on Facebook!
