Miss Hong Kong Nepal 2012 Parina Subba has been busy supporting various charities including Shiksha Nepal and Early Childhood Development Center. Parina who was crowned by Malvika Subba during the grand pageant in December organized a charity hike in February to support The Umbrella Foundation. The active beauty queen donated over 100 story books to Shiksha Nepal in March. She’s also the Hong Kong ambassador for CNN HERO Pushpa Basnet’s Early Childhood Development Center. As an ambassador, Parina organized an art exhibition in April and a charity dinner in May to support ECDC.

Apart from serving the charity organizations, this beauty queen has also been keeping herself busy by supporting various events including the Takme Budo show in Macau and performing at various cultural events.

It’s very refreshing to come across and read about someone who is doing so much. Parina should continue to do what she’s doing and the next step would probably be to book a flight to Nepal and be part of the process on the ground. I also hope that the good that she’s doing does not stop when a new beauty queen is crowned this year but it continues and she goes on to serve as ‘Parina Subba’. Likewise, others out there who are interested and want to support charities, organize events and be part of something such as this should lead the way and make a start. We are all capable of doing something in our own way.
