On Sunday June 9, I attended the first ever Maya Outreach annual dinner at Ruby M’s in Rayners Lane, London. It was a wonderful evening with live music, a general knowledge quiz and a brief presentation by founder Mala Gurung about the work that Maya Outreach has been involved in the past year. The non-profit UK based organisation has been supporting the Bharatpur Cancer Hospital in Nepal and also Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK. Maya Outreach received support from Monica Flanagan who ran the Virgin London Marathon this year to raise money for the charity. The health charity has also participated in various Nepali events across the UK including Nepali Mela.
Huge well done to the ladies, Mala, Manila and Laxmi for starting the organisation and all the new friends of Maya Outreach who have been supporting and walking along with the growing charity. Maya Outreach will be working in close connection with Nepal in the coming year and also has plans to set up a Maya Outreach base in Nepal. The charity organisation has plans to employ a health assistant.
Wishing the team all the best.
