It has only been few weeks since former Miss UK Nepal Gaumaya Gurung touched down in Kathmandu but since her arrival Gaumaya has been busy attending various meetings, visiting her hometown Gorkha and Jajarkot for Shiksha Nepal. Through MUKTI UK Gaumaya and the team collected over £1000 for Maiti Nepal, she had a meeting with CNN HERO Anuradha Koirala regarding the present and future of Maiti Nepal and Mukti. Gaumaya also donated reading glasses in memory of late friend Jenisha Bhattarai at Tilganga. The day didn’t end there for Gaumaya as she also made a quick stop to the newly launched Trendsetters designer store where she bought her first pair of Dulla Shoes by Nepali designer Dulla Ahmed. Good one, gotta support Nepali designers too!

Before she flew to Nepal, Gaumaya and friends also did a charity skydive in the UK for Shiksha Nepal. The team have been supporting the organisations ‘A Book For Every Child’ campaign for the past few months. With Prem Bahadur Bohara of Shiksha Nepal and members of Gen Nep, Gaumaya travelled to Jajarkot earlier this week to deliver the books to several schools.

Once again, wonderful job by Gaumaya and her friends who have been involved in the fundraising through Mukti UK, Shiksha Nepal and more. Of course, one must not forget those at home who have donated to campaigns and causes supported by Gaumaya and the team. Keep believing and trusting for we will be gifted with individuals such as Gaumaya and her friends.
