Dhilung Kirat is pursuing PhD in Computer Science at University of California Santa Barbara. He is well known for his outstanding landscape pictures.

“I love the fact that one needs to be out there into the nature to pursue landscape photography. I am inspired by nature and her profound beauty. ”

Photography is – “ a medium of expression.”

How it began – “Although I’ve been a visual person since my childhood, I only started playing around with DSLR since 2009. I like travelling so I started taking pictures for the ‘Life in Nepal’ section of the community blog. I found landscape photography as a complementary playground for travel and visual art.”

Most preferred camera – “For me lenses are more important. I enjoy super wide angle lenses.”

How important is it for you to have a unique style in your photos? “This is something one has to work hard and develop over time and which I think is the most important goal for one’s career.”

Do you have a favourite place where you can take endless photographs? – “Barun Valley, Nepal – no doubt.”

Favourite photographer – “Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell, Tadeu (T Glow) and Jagadish Tiwari have been my constant source of inspiration.”
