Former Miss Nepal US Sujita Basnet in Nepal

People, places, thoughts, a little bit of masala, and a little bit of sugar... this is what life primarily consists of. Traveling through western Nepal my co fellow Emily MacDonald and I have been trying to see why some of these key ingredients are missing from the lives of the children of Nepal. - Sujita Basnet

For the past few days I have been traveling through various cities of western Nepal, Kanchanpur, Dangadi, Bardia, and Nepaljung, where Backward Society Education (BASE) has set up district offices. The mission is to figure out what is being done in Nepal regarding child labor and to profile some of the current as well as previous child laborers. The issue of Kamlari practice has been in focus thus far. Kamlari practice has been abolished in Nepal since 2000 but recently there have been other laws put into place to protect these freed Kamlari's. I have many video footages, pictures, and interesting discussions to share with all regarding this issues but until I get internet connection again here are some flick of me getting a taste of fishing in the west! - Sujita Basnet
