Lady Gaga Wears Prabal Gurung at MTV VMA 2013

Better late than never right?

Global superstar Lady Gaga was spotted wearing Prabal Gurung to the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on August 25 in New York. Gaga who also performed her new single APPLAUSE wore the Custom Spring 2014 Technical Satin Gown on the red carpet. One of the most awaited nights for the music industry, this years MTV VMA also marked the one-off performance by N’SYNC and the much talked about performance by young pop sensation Miley Cyrus. Love it or hate it, everybody’s talking about it!

And coming back to the topic, Lady Gaga looked refreshingly normal and beautiful on the red carpet. I also shared a photo of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone wearing Prabal Gurung for VOGUE India on my Facebook page and several comments have raised the question regarding whether Prabal Gurung truly acknowledges his Nepali roots or not… Let’s not be too sensitive about this – PG has always talked about Nepal, his heritage and promoted Nepal by endlessly sharing his holiday snaps and not to forget’ using Nepali patterns in some of his designs. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been many sightings of Nepali celebrities wearing Prabal Gurung – if there was then I would surely blog or share that.
