Better Late Than Never

Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) BBA Second year students initiated the GREEN JANAKPUR campaign in August 2013 to raise awareness about the environment in the historic city of Janakpur. The four day long event included a rally, signature campaign and the planting of 250 tree saplings on both sides of the roads from Ramananda Chowk to Zeromile. Apart from students taking the lead, the campaign was inaugurated by CPN-UML leader and former minister Pradeep Gyawali.

Every one of us have the potential to do something and work towards it. It doesn’t start from them but it starts from us and this campaign is a wonderful action by the individuals involved. Great job by the initiators and the facilitators of GREEN JANAKPUR.

PS. Apart from the Janaki Mandir, Janakpur is also home to the Nepal Railway (still functioning) and some great food! I enjoyed venturing out to this city back in 2011 for ‘Lex in Nepal’. Won’t mind going back and melting in the heat again.

I feel everyone is busy in discussing the politics and other matters but no one worried to take a moment to think about GREEN initiative on which our future depends. Good job and Thanks to All.
